A reel of my life in 2010
A surge of writer's urge came over me yesterday and I started writing furiously into my notebook-gosh how I miss writing. The physical grip of a pen, the smoothness of ink on paper and the flow of thoughts and feelings... there is nothing really like expressing oneself in words, especially when there is a distinct conjuctiveness between how you feel, what you think and the words in which you express them. Ahh, bliss.
As I wrote, I realised how different and amazing the year has been for me-so many things learnt and felt and experienced, I wondered when will be the next time I could have such a year again. And then I thought, really, time is what you make out of it and how you want to spend it and the lessons that you take back for all those moments that seem to suspend in reality.
And here's whatever I can remember:
Jan: In Melbourne for a roadtrip with mum
Jan/Feb: Backpacking with my best friends around New Zealand for 16 days. Crazy things done! Kayaking with seals, climbing up different mountains, glacier hiking, the most beautiful lake I'd ever laid my eyes on, stargazing at the mountain top
Feb/Mar: Family time in China, which was lovely
Mar-June: School Semester, big projects, new modules. A week in Adelaide. Graduation! Serving at Gracepoint! Auburn bible study group, gatherings on friday nights, weekly themed potlucks, late night music practice. 1km open water swim at Balmoral. Selling and moving house furniture.
June/July: Attachment in Canberra, skiing at Snowy Mountains. Backpacking/diving Fiji for a week, cutest instructor, lol.
Aug: Humanitarian Symposium (what a flop), mountain trekking in Sapa, Hanoi with mum
Sept-Dec: Start work. Meetups with all my dear and wonderful friends. Fellowship group in the hospital, yay! Joy in work, God is good:)
And what about next year? And the next few years? Definitely there are things I'd want to learn and accomplish before setting foot again? And where will that take me? So many questions but I'll leave that to God-I know I'm in good hands:)
