MRT disgrace
I have to write about this. It really is quite infuriating to still see pple pretending to dose off, stare into space, playing games on their PSPs, sitting on the reserved seats with no apprehension, while an elderly/preg woman stands right in front of them!
2 events tt had me exasperated:
#1
An elderly couple boards the train. Everyone looks elsewhere, or looks at the elderly right in the face and still stays put (goodness). There was a middle-aged caucasian lady who stood up to give her seat up, walked over to the elderly man and led him to the seat. And she looked around at the glaring 'reserved' seat signs and shook her head in exasperation. I think this leaves quite a bad impression for the foreigners. sigh.
#2
No one gave up their 'reserve' seats for this elderly uncle, abt 70 yo with a walking stick! Finally when someone stood up (not to give up her seat but bcos she was getting off), this auntie hurried over to plonk herself on it. And looking up at the old uncle, and not feeling even the slightest bit remorseful.
SIGH.
