Short notes

In a hammock, homestay @ Mekong Delta

Spent abt 3 weeks in Vietnam, and it has been 2 weeks since I've been back to Singapore! It has been a definite adventure, which I find hard to put into words. The local and international volunteers have been wonderful, the children amazing, the experiences unforgettable. I went alone, not knowing what to expect, but God has more than provided for me there and I come back with thanksgivings! :) I see a huge gaping need for therapy for people in developing countries- the brief encounters with the children has left me with an aching sadness, knowing that with appropriate therapy, some of them can go very far. At the same time, there is inspiration that I draw from their lives, from their raucous laughter and genuine smiles. It's a starting step toward my dreams. There was just so much to learn from the stories of the other volunteers as well, I never thought I would experience humility this way.

Had my fair share of adventures as well! Rode at the backs of motorbikes through the insane traffic at HCMC, dirt tracks, and through the countryside at Mekong Delta. Sat at the back of the jeep to catch the sunrise over sanddunes, sandsledding, wading through streams. It was all unplanned, but God is good! hahaha:) *Pls look at FB for pics, as I'm too lazy to upload here again*

I'm now doing mundane but impt things like getting ready for Aussie (am really excited!!) and meeting up to say goodbyes (or rather see you in a year). I've decided I won't come back to Singapore in this 1 year, but use the time to do more travelling and volunteer work, some wildlife conservation sounds fun too. 3 months is a pretty short break, we'll see. Sooooo, meet up with me ok guys! :)
