Looking for a rainbow
I need to pen my thoughts down, before the day passes yet again. Everyday, I look at the same mountain, but today it was something he said that sparked off a not too long ago memory. "It's quite a distance up there, but the view is great" he said, while pointing at the summit of the mountain. And that short sentence reminded me of God's grace in all circumstances. And tt if we continue to press on and not give up, how breathtaking the view will be at the top! Have I been too task focused that I've forgotten to stop to smell the flowers during my climb? Dragging my feet and panting and complaining abt the achiness of the legs, the hot sun, that I've forgotten to STOP and LOOK around me? To look at the beauty of things that are around, to appreciate that serenity and beauty that is within?
As the car drove past, I saw my answered prayer. I saw a huge arc of a rainbow. I prayed for a rainbow before coming here for placement. It might seem like a silly thing to ask for, but that was what I prayed for.
A huge rainbow, with a full arc stretching across the sky, splayed with the different colours.
Just a rainbow.
I saw half an arc actually, the rest were blocked by shophouses. It made me tear, God's covenant and promise of His love, spread out across the sky for all to see. And it is just wonderful- that rainbows can be seen only after it has rained. To know that there is something beautiful that awaits, even when it rains.
Mountains and rainbows.
Commiting everything into His Hands,
kings:)
