Haiku n umbrellas

Has been an interesting week yet again, creativity abounds! I thoroughly enjoyed the group sessions my mates conducted.

Haiku is a genre of Japanese poetry. Traditionally, Haiku is composed of 5,7,5 syllabuses/sounds, and is made up of 3 lines. Haiku has then spread to the States and is now found in many forms. You can be flexible, there's no need to comply to a 5,7,5 sound now:)

5 Haikus I did in class: (each poem consists of 3 lines only)

1.Thick black sauce
Over ridges and plateaus of white
Dripping in perfection

2. Magically it appears
Food from a glossy magazine
It's not real

3. Arching eyebrows
Glimpse of the Atlantic
Cracking mask

4. Starfish washed ashore
The silence of a thousand stars
Scattered everywhere

5. A child's smile
Childhood of blue toy bears
Perched high on shleves

I miss writing. It's wonderful to express yourself in words.

We did umbrella painting as well, i think it's a bril idea! This is an idea that can be done with depressed patients. It's process based, and it's just v nice to have a shared end-product at the end of the sessions. 8 pple are partnered tgt (4 pairs) and one of each pair is blindfolded. The partner then helps to guide the blindfolded to paint on inside of the umbrella. The umbrella is really nice, shall post up pics when i get them! :)
