Love
Is not a box of Goddiva chocolates and expensive roses wrapped in delicate coloured tissues. It is not classy dinners which you went to in a limousine. It is not a heart tied with a satin bow and presented to the other. It is not a gorgeous diamond ring in the most exquisite velvet box. It is not the fuzzy feeling that comes with it, the light-headedness and the sudden rush to the head. A friend wrote tt love is not a feeling, but a choice.
I think that when most pple think of love, they think abt the expressions of love. Not that there's anything wrong with it, it's just a different perspective. And I think in terms of relationships, there are so many who are selfish out there. And you think only of yourself, yourself, yourself. Self gratification, self needs..is it love at all? Is it love when you start counting the things you did for your partner, and demand in retrospect tt they do the same for u? Is it love that you've found when you decide that the feelings have run dry and you could do better with someone else? Is it love when you think of marriage as a gamble and a security safenet where you don't have to be alone your entire life? Is it love.
Is it the reason why so many weave in and out of relationships like a breeze.
Is it love.
I'm tired of seeing pple around me having such selfish definitions of love. It does get irritating. They weigh it carefully, the costs and the benefits, like it is some kind of financial package. Is it love.
What does it mean when someone says 'i love you.' Has it become routine? What's it worth?
Perhaps i'm wrong, i've never been in love. And perhaps when I do, i might write something else.
What is love?
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7
