Germany vs Argentina

Watching this match was a particularly new experience for me, a much fun and exciting one too. Perhaps i should backtrack a bit, to the moments where i stood in the living room, sorely disappointed and UNconvinced that such an impt match was not shown on the local tv channels. NOT broadcasted! How appalling! And i was desperately flipping the channels, where where where? Why even Tv1 and 2 had to broadcast some weird drama and news..but gasp! Not this match!!! And so my mum said, we could go to the nearest coffee shop to watch the match. At first i was..ummm.really? I thought perhaps i could convince myself to fall asleep and not watch the match. Impossible man. The nx moment we were flying out of the house, half running to the coffee shop.

Oh man...it was jam packed with men.Old men,young men,fat men,thin men,booze dunking men, bald men, pot belly men, tatooed men..almost all men! Tried to spot some ladies. V few, 2 women accompanying their husbands, and couple of aunties tt were making the coffee n tea. And then-me and mum! What the heck la-can't miss the match man! We got a few stares alright but humph. It's not only the guys who can appreciate matches yea! Luckily when i rushed down, it was still 0-0 .Then it was half time. Lotta boos and few started to move away and i realised they weren't gg home yet but making a beeline for coffee or late night char kway tiao! Yea, and the booze.Not long after i had to see (sore eye) Argentina scoring a 1-0 with a corner! Wah. Quite many Arg fans there, and this guy sitting beside me was like " YES!! ".I was like "Oh MAN.Shit la!" Watched and watched until the heart grew heavier and heavier..till at 80!! Klose scored a bloody equaliser! ABt damn time too! (oops) And i, "YAYAYAYAYAY!!!!" To my horror, the guy beside me did the same thing too. HUH? bro ah, which side r u on?

Actually i doubted a lot of the uncles who were there. I don't think they really cared who was pitting gainst whom, perhaps just soaking up the "festive" atmosphere. Seriously, they were picking their nails, some more engrossed with their chicken wings n mee pok than the match. And before the additional time, saw this uncle rushing to the supermarket to buy ice cream for him and his baldie friends. Picnic huh! Well kinda expected they'd end w penalty shoot out and thought the situation was really cute too. Every hit/miss was greeted by cheers and boos, and of cos for the entire event i was super nervous, held my breath. SAVE!! yES! And YAY!!!!! Germany won!! WHOO!!! was so happy i screamed and jumped from my chair!!! yes, more weird stares.

Watching the match in midst of the heartlanders, was, well, fun=)
